Securing space for future generations

Space isn’t an owned entity by any one party, and is reliant on global leaders to collaborate, secure it and utilise it safely. Space is now a leading landscape for defence operations and is now listed as an operational domain, alongside maritime, land, air and cyberspace.

Following the UK Government’s launch of the Defence Space Strategy, which saw expenditure on space increase to £6.4bn over the next 10 years, Space-Comm Expo is a must-attend platform for key discussions, meetings and showcases to take place with leaders across the defence and security landscape, both in the UK and internationally.

Defence & Space

Since its inception in 2021, Space-Comm Expo has brought the defence and space community together, enabling discussions around the dual use of space and its importance to the defence sector. As one of the key events focused on the commercialisation of the space sector, it aims to highlight the strategic role that the commercial space industry plays in developing sovereign defence capabilities.

In the last edition of the Space-Comm Expo, the focus of the discussions was around space sovereignty and the future of global space governance, and we welcomed Air Vice-Marshal Paul Godfrey, Commander, UK Space Command, and Brigadier General Mike Adamson, Commander, Canadian Space Division, Royal Canadian Air Force, who discussed the increasing concerns regarding grey zone threats, emphasizing the challenges posed by the overlap of commercial and national space capabilities and the implications for defence and international cooperation.

Looking ahead to Space-Comm Expo 2025, we aim to build on the momentum of previous years by expanding our focus on space’s strategic role in defence and global security. This year, we will delve deeper into the intersection of defence capabilities, sustainability, and commercial innovation.
