Government and the Space Industry

Following a 4% Y-O-Y increase in the number of UK-based space businesses entering the market, the commercial space sector has been identified as a growth area for the UK economy. The UK Government has committed funding to support projects related to satellite technology, space exploration, and international collaboration in space missions.

Since this injection of investment and support, Space-Comm Expo has seen a vast rise in Government interest and presence.

The UK’s largest space industry event is hosting Government agencies and departments in several ways in 2024:

  • There is an increase of Government officials and Ministers walking the show floor each year to meet with the manufacturers and suppliers exhibiting and learning more about them.

  • The UK Space Agency is the Government department responsible for the UK’s civil space programme. It was established in 2010 to oversee the country’s space activities and to promote the growth of the UK space sector. UK Space Agency is a founding partner of Space-Comm and continues its support by having a large presence at the event each year.

  • Space-Comm Expo is the ideal place for Government officials to meet a range of companies operating in the commercial space sector, in a short amount of time, and have detailed conversations about their services and upcoming projects.
