Speaker profile
Susan Charlesworth is an expert in human behaviour and performance, specialising in developing the skills needed to thrive in high-stakes technical environments. As Director of Charlesworth Human Performance, she delivers training to individuals and organisations in the space sector, helping them build the team culture, leadership and communication skills essential for success.
Susan has worked extensively in space skills development, previously serving in the Education and Skills team at the UK Space Agency. She has trained ESA astronauts in Human Factors and Human Performance, preparing them for the challenges of space exploration, and has worked with ESA’s Ground Control Crew and Antarctic explorers.

With a background in psychology and human factors, Susan brings a unique perspective to space workforce development. She is also a volunteer for Women in Aerospace UK and works with the RISE Together Space Alliance, to improve diversity and inclusion across the industry.
