Martin is currently the Campaign Director for Airbus Defence and Space in the UK. In this role, Martin is responsible for bringing the world-class solutions that Airbus offer to meet the requirements of the UK MOD. This includes working alongside specialist companies within the UK to develop future capability and solutions, with the aspiration of developing a long-standing business as a partner to the government and industry.
Previously, Martin was the Director, Space, leading the business growth of Airbus in Australia and New Zealand. In addition, Martin was the Campaign Lead for the JP9102 Military Satellite Communication opportunity in Australia.
Before this, Martin was seconded to work as part of the Defence Growth Partnership (DGP) initiative, based at the British Embassy, Tokyo. Martin’s role was to support British and Japanese defence companies in collaboration and joint working as part of the UK Government’s wider strategy. This role was focused on finding mutually beneficial opportunities for British and Japanese companies to work together to develop joint capabilities and research projects.
Prior to this role, Martin was the Head of Strategy and Marketing for the UK. He has worked at Airbus for over ten years, gaining a wide-ranging experience around marketing, strategy, business development and change.
Martin has previously worked for several of the company’s CEO’s and Senior Management team in realising change and transformation across Europe. This has included implementing European organisational transformation, rationalisation, as well as developing new business development and procurement teams.
Martin graduated the University of Plymouth with a BSc (Hons) in Politics and Business Studies in 2004. This was followed by a Masters in International Security and Strategy from King’s College London as part of the Royal College of Defence Studies in 2012.
