Jon is the Space Sector strategic lead at the National Manufacturing Institute for Scotland (NMIS). NMIS offers manufacturing innovation support across multiple sectors including Space, de-risking manufacturing activities from design and material selection through to upscaling production and quality assurance. Projects involving MBSE, design, additive manufacturing, non-contact metrology, composites and assistive automation solutions.
Jon has over 20 years’ experience from working in blue-sky R&D labs to factory operations, from food and drink to next generation aircraft propulsion systems. In his current role Jon leads the Space Manufacturing strategy at NMIS helping to deliver world class innovation for space sector companies providing access to state of the art equipment and expertise for the next generation of space products.
