Emma has been the Chief Space Engineer at the UK Civil Aviation Authority since July 2021. As well as leading a team of engineers, Emma also heads the monitoring activity undertaken by the regulator’s warranted inspectors covering safety and the environment.
Emma is a licenced aircraft Engineer and joined the Civil Aviation Authority in 2017 as an Airworthiness Surveyor before becoming a Principal Airworthiness Surveyor. Emma was heavily involved in the CAA’s work to prepare the aerospace sector for Brexit, creating the new Design and Certification department for aviation.
