Speaker profile
Beth Moses is a professional suborbital astronaut and aerospace engineer who served on the flight crew of six Virgin Galactic spaceflights; she is currently the world’s most-flown female astronaut. In 2019, during test flight VF01, Moses conducted Virgin Galactic’s first cabin evaluation and became the first human to unstrap on a suborbital spaceflight as well as the first female to fly on a privately funded spacecraft. She earned Commercial Astronaut Wings #007 from the Federal Aviation Administration in April 2019. Moses went on to fly as the cabin lead on Unity 22, Virgin Galactic’s first fully crewed spaceflight, and four additional flights to complete Unity’s flight test program and begin commercial service. When not flying in space, Beth led Virgin Galactic’s astronaut training and cabin test programs. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University and previously worked at NASA as the Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Subsystem Manager for the International Space Station Program.
