Cubesat design optimisation: a detailed thermal model coupled with system power budget analysis

We’ll walk through our process from end-to-end, including:

Taking a system-level approach to power system design allows us to couple the design with a detailed thermal model using the FMI standard. Plus, we are able to import orbit and mission planning from GMAT. By optimizing the whole system using a multi-objective design study, we can keep the focus on reducing mass while ensuring power generation, storage, and temperature control are maintained. As a final check, we can use the results to assess thermo-elastic distortion using mapped temperatures.
