Euan, in his current position of Business Development and Innovation Manager at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), oversees the management and facilitation of access to the UK’s Astronomy Centre, National Scientific Laboratories and Space Testing Facilities. Through this work he supports companies gain access to the right skills, equipment and facilities to enhance growth within the UK’s space and technology sectors.
Euan also has a proactive role focused on shaping business processes and best practice in the sphere of sustainability in the global space industry. Euan conducts research surrounding sustainable business activities and a socio-environmental approach to sustainability enhancement within the UK space sector. Euan’s research and involvement within the space sector has led him to help facilitate the development of the world’s first sustainable space strategy and roadmap – ‘Space Sustainability: A Roadmap for Scotland’.
Euan is actively engaged in various working groups and committees focusing on socio-environmental sustainability across the business and space domains. His areas of expertise encompass launch capabilities, sustainable launch practices, earth observation, and collaboration with financial institutions to integrate space technologies into financial frameworks.
He is also chair of the Space Scotland ‘Infrastructure and Facilities’ working group and a board member of the ‘Environmental Task Force’, as well as being a founding member and the chair of the newly formed Scottish Space and Technologies Business Incubation and Accelerator Group.
