Speaker profile

Inês d’Ávila holds a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Lisbon and is responsible for the Space Safety and Space Transportation programmes at the Portuguese Space Agency. She represents Portugal in various international organisations within these domains, including the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Commission, and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), among others.
She is currently leading multiple initiatives in space transportation, with the objective of establishing a hub for access to and return from space in Portugal, thereby strengthening Europe’s capabilities in the evolving space sector.
Additionally, Inês serves as a project manager for the European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC), a Portugal-based European initiative that bridges education and access to space, contributing to the development of the next generation of aerospace professionals.
