Speaker profile

John has over 50 years’ experience in and around the aerospace, aviation, defence and space sectors. He has been chief executive of the Aerospace Wales Forum since its foundation in 2002. The Forum represents 240 companies in Wales including branches of eight of the world’s top ten aerospace, space and defence companies and provides advice on strategy and industry matters to the Welsh Government.

In 2015 the Forum, working in partnership with Welsh Government, published the first Space Strategy for Wales and established a specialist Space Group. He is co-chair of the Space Wales Leadership Council, formed in 2021 with support from the UK Space Agency. The Space Wales network now has 60 members and has published a new strategy “Wales – a sustainable space nation” which has been fully endorsed and adopted by Welsh Government.
