For the past twelve months Geoff has been working at UK Space Command (UKSC MOD) as part of a STFC secondment.
His current position as Chief Innovation Adviser has involved leading on Challenge Led Innovation. He has been building an understanding of the UKSC challenges and forging connections with the UK Space Communities to generate and designing solutions. In these early stages Geoff has designed methodologies for pathways to innovation with UK’s academia and industry.
Geoff has worked in the STFC Challenge led programmes since its formation in 2010. In his primary role as the Theme Leader various themes such as Agri-tech, Global Food Security, Water and Energy, he has established a strong network across the UK Sectors, many of which are within the space sector. Geoff has raised funding developing business for an STFC Food Network for my organisation and the UK academic community; this network is designed to establish tech transfer and spin out projects across the Physics, Space/Agri-Food disciplines. He has been involved in many international collaborations, including New Zealand, China, India and others. He is a CoI on a UK/India Food Waste Space Tech Transfer Project.
