Dr Peter Shaw

Dr Peter Shaw has 17 years in the space sector crossing both academia and industry. Working at the Surrey Space Centre, Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. and Kingston University London. With a focus on space and launch propulsion spanning electric propulsion, satellite micro propulsion and hybrid propellant engines. Dr Shaw has worked on several flight missions including the flagship NovaSAR satellite and the UKs first CubeSAT. Currently a Senior Lecturer in Space Technology at Kingston University researching applied engineering enhanced by Artificial Intelligence, gelled propellants, novel re-entry systems and a recent interest in ISRU of lunar material for lunar launch infrastructure. Dr Shaw has a strong interest in space skill development lobbying for key changes and is currently a co-representative for the Launch Industry Group on the Space Skills Advisory Panel that reports to government and the UKSA.
