Speaker profile

As Technical Director of Celestia UK, Ed oversees the development of new technology demonstrators and innovative product developments. He has a wealth of specialist design, manufacture and measurement experience having been Head of Airborne AESA Engineering in the Airborne & Space Systems division of Leonardo, where he developed ground-breaking AESA antenna arrays. Before that, he was the R&D Team Leader and Engineering Manager of Integrated Antenna Solutions at Selex Elsag. Ed gained a BSc Hons in Applied Physics and an MSc in Optoelectronics from Queen’s University Belfast and a PhD in Astrophysics from Queen’s University Belfast and the Royal Greenwich Observatory in Cambridge.
