Speaker profile

Christine Gomm has worked at ADS for the last 5 years as Head of Event Operations. Prior to that she was at another publishing company as Exhibition Operations Manager and at ADS for 8 years as an Event Manager. Christine has been working in the event industry for the last 17 years.

In her current role Christine manages a team of 4 Event Managers who run between 80 and 100 events per year of various types, sizes and in multiple locations both in the UK and overseas. Christine works closely with the sector teams at ADS to assist them in producing sector specific events with relevant stakeholders with the sectors ADS works in.

Christine’s team manage the UK Rocketry Competition each year which encourages 11 – 18 years olds to sign up, build a model rocket and launch with a payload at one of our regional events around the UK. The top scorers of each competition compete at the National Final in Buckminster in June and the winners of that go through to the International final at either Paris Airshow or Farnborough Airshow. This competition we hope encourages young people into careers in engineering and STEM subjects and is purely funded via sponsorship from relevant industry companies.

Christine is at Space Comm to talk about the UKROC competition to encourage potential sponsors to come forward as well as encourage people to tell teams in their networks about the competition.
