Development of a Low Cost and Navigation Use Redundant MEMS IMU
To realize a low cost and navigation use IMU for spacecraft, we SPP have jointly developed a Redundant MEMS IMU “MRN-01” with JAXA which uses accurate MEMS gyroscopes and MEMS accelerometers with redundant circuit technology. MRN-01 passed all qualification tests and the on-orbit experiment on RAISE-2 and the flight experiments during launch phase on Epsilon rocket and H3 rocket are successfully completed. MRN-01 is planned to be used on Japanese flagship rockets, H3 rocket and Epsilon S rocket, as an inertial measurement function of Redundant Integrated Navigation system. We also make our efforts to apply MRN-01 to satellites, lunar/planetary explore and orbital vehicles.
