arcsec has been developing star trackers for
the small satellite market since it’s foundation
in 2020. To tackle the growing need for Space
Situational Awareness, arcsec has decided to
implement on-board debris detection and
characterization on their star trackers. This
allows for an easily scalable, cost-effective
sensor network to track space-debris and
safeguard our space-based assets through
effective space traffic management. In contrast
to dedicated space-based solutions, DeDUST
does not involve launching more satellites and
thus more potential space debris. By tracking
objects as small as 10cm, a DeDUST sensor
network will provide invaluable information on
the space debris problem.
